Avant toi - Score Cover

Avant toi – Arrangement

I composed this arrangement for piano and cello of Avant toi in 2020. This original pop-song is performed by Slimane and Vitaa.

Toi qui as entendu

I composed Toi qui as entendu very recently, after discovering this wonderful poem by Odile Riondet at the yearly general assembly of ACCREL. Inspired by the Gospel of John, chapter 3, it is meant to be used for baptisms or for the second week of easter and is built around a single word: "Chante !" ("Sing!" in French).
Laudate Dominum - Score Cover

Laudate Dominum

Laudate Dominum is a Christmas carol that starts with the psalm 130, De profundis, which is sung for the second vespers of Christmas, and expresses the cry of the Christ, descended on earth, to his Father. It is followed by a tenor aria with some lyrics from the Gospel of Luke (2, 10), when the angel comes to announce the birth of Jesus. It is finally concluded by a very long fugue on the Psalm 117, Laudate Dominum Omnes Gentes, used as an antiphon during the Christmas liturgical time.

Le Seigneur est tendresse et pitié – Psalm 102 – Lent version

Le Seigneur est tendresse et pitié - Psalm 102 is one of the two versions I recently composed for the national magazine Voix Nouvelles. One particularity of liturgical year C is that the psalm 102 is used two times, once for the 7th Sunday in Ordinary Time, the second time for the 3rd Sunday in Lent. The challenge was to set up two relevant musics on the same psalm that would create two different spiritual atmospheres. Here is the version for the 3rd Sunday in Lent. The version for the 7th Sunday in Ordinary Time can be found there.

Rorate Cæli Desuper - Score Cover

Rorate Cæli Desuper

Rorate Cæli Desuper was composed in 2017 and this Christmas carol is more an "Advent carol" as the lyrics, from the book of Isaiah (45:8), are frequently sung as a plainsong at Mass and in the Divine Office during Advent where it gives expression to the longings of Patriarchs and Prophets, and symbolically of the Church, for the coming of the Messiah. Throughout Advent it occurs daily as the versicle and response after the hymn at Vespers.
Waltz n°1 - Score Cover

Waltz n°1 for Piano

Waltz n°1 for piano is my first waltz, composed in 2017, inspired by the one in the movie La La Land. Its melodic flow, that never stops, makes me think of couples swirling on the dance floor.
Bete Aber Auch Dabei - Aria from Cantata BWV 115 - Arrangement - Score Cover

Bete Aber Auch Dabei – Aria from Cantata BWV 115 – Arrangement

This in an arrangement for flute, two cellos and piano of Bete Aber Auch Dabei - BWV 115, which I consider being one of the most beautiful arias in Johann Sebastian Bach's cantatas. The original piece is written for soprano solo, flute and cello piccolo, instrument about which we barely know nothing, but that he had a very wide range, especially in high pich.
Love Came Down at Christmas - Score Cover

Love Came Down at Christmas

Love Came Down at Christmas is the very first Christmas carol that I composed for the International Choir and Orchestra of Ho Chi Minh City in 2016. Based on lyrics of Christina Rossetti, this lovely poem invites us to contemplate the humble love of God for humankind and how this movement of God towards us eventually saves us. The music is at the same time sweet and passionate, bright and meditative, to express this non-instinctive wonder of the extraordinary of God in the ordinary of life.

Sunny Winter Days - Score Cover

Sunny Winter Days

Sunny Winter Days is a slow jazz piece that was written in 2008 for a friend of mine who plays alto saxophone. When I composed it, the melodic line made me think of those sunny winter sundays, when you can look at the snow fields through your window, while seated in your armchair, before the fireplace, holding a cup of hot chocolate. Hence the name of the piece.
