Lý Rượu Mừng is among the most popular Tết songs. The title can be translated as “The Toast Drink”, the one we share in Vietnamese families to greet the first day of Tết.

I composed the canon Vivre d’amour in 2002. It is a very devotional song based on a text of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, the famous French Carmelite nun. Written for unisson choir, it can be accompanied on piano or guitar. The men ostinato bass line can be doubled by a cello or a bassoon. This song has been published in 2021 by the Arbre Noir Editions and was recorded by my friends Raphaëlle Mellot and Dominique Lang.
